This marvelous antique Art Nouveau style jewelry box is created in gorgeous sterling silver with a top lid panel of a charming armorini or cherub and the surrounding panel with floral repousse designs.  The background of both the lid and base have light uniform stippling.  Hallmarks are:  Derby Silver Co., quadruple plate, a crossed key with a hammer in a square, M & B, a floral sprig with a bird within a square, Sterling, #30.  Apparently between 1888-1895 manufactured sterling items under M&B [Watson J. Miller & Henry Berry.]  Measurements for this fabulous creation are:  Height=3 inches, Diameter=3-3/4 inches Inside depth=2-3/4 inches.  Weight=10.28 Troy ounces.  This marvelous silver jewelry box has been well cared for, gently used and is in good antique condition.  Unfortunately, there are small nicks, as well as light scratching and a 1/2 inch loss on the top.  The base bottom has light scratching.  This beautiful box is the perfect addition for your dressing table, particularly if you like the darling cherub!
