Marquis Bakelite Ink Blotter

Marquis in Production 1925-1945

made by Commonwealth Moulding Company Pty Ltd who produced Bakelite in Sydney.

They were pioneers in the plastic industry in Australia.

Patent No: on the inside of the blotter:Pat No: MBP/F4

Still has vintage blotting paper attached, but unable to discern age. There is a slight blue/green tinge to the paper.

There is a wear mark on the top of the blotter (see photos) but am unsure how it came to be (potentially from storage while in use)
