This is a charming French vintage tin plate chicken shaped mould, traditional French kitchenalia used for making chocolate chickens, probably at Easter. It includes two sides so you can make a three dimensional chicken.
This would make an attractive display item in any pretty kitchen, especially if you have a farmhouse, vintage or shabby chic theme. They may also be a great prop for any theatrical production. Of course, with a little clean up, they could be used to make your own chocolate chickens, or maybe used for other crafts like pottery.
There are tabs on either side one of which is etched: Matfer France - which is a kitchen supplies manufacturer.

In VERY GOOD vintage condition, but with obvious signs of age, including a dent on the base, which does not affect the inside of the mould. Please see all the photos and remember it is around 70 years old, pre-owned and pre loved.
