This antique periodical is over 162 years old!
A well preserved antique publication!
Volume 15; Number 12; Whole Number 174. Original publisher decorated paper wrappers present nicely overall with just some general age-related wear, including light soiling and toning, gentle wrinkling and general light wear around the extremities, and some light soiling and spotting to the page edges. Very well preserved for being over 160 years old!
This volume remains sturdy and sound with both covers and all page groupings firmly attached to the string binding. There are no signatures, inscriptions, bookplates or other markings to note.
The text block itself is in great condition for age. Pages are crisp and bright overall, showing just hints of toning and perhaps some light scattered foxing. Otherwise very clean and with no rips, tears, writing or markings to note.
Profusely illustrated. Features a frontispiece plate and several engravings throughout, including advertisements. This volume contains more engravings than most of the other issues I have for sale. Also features a curious advertisement for artificial ears.
