Photograph Notes: Directly in front of the tree-line is an old track that led to disused quarries. During the 3rd week in April, 2012, tipper trucks started arriving at the rate of one almost every hour. Beginning at the start of the track [by the gap on the right] they dropped granite chips and gravel, strengthening the track further and further to the left. Eventually, they had laid this hard core base round a far bend and into the forest. On the Friday of that week, a timber lorry arrived and turned down the new track. Shortly afterwards it returned full of newly sawn logs. Access to another part of the forest was complete. The photograph shows one of the tipper trucks returning along the track after dropping its load.
