First edition, eighth printing, May 1926 (an important edition, the sixth Paris and eighth overall – the type being reset to correct various errors in the original, and those added at the point of the fourth printing). Included is the original card from publisher Sylvia Beach's Shakespeare & Company, presumably from the year of publication and tipped in when book was originally purchased. This copy belonged to early 20th century fiction writer Clifford L. Near, Jr., with his name & address in ink on title page.

Front cover is detached, with a small notation written on upper left corner; rear cover & endpaper missing, with typical wear to edges/spine. All text pages otherwise complete & intact. Many copies of this edition were later bound in hardcover boards due to the fragility of the paper wraps (as well as the historical importance of the text), a treatment that may also serve this copy well. Vertical crease to left side of card, with a small closed tear at top of crease.
