An example of a biscuit box that I have never seen before and believe I may never see another.

English in origin, it is silver plated over Britannia Metal with a good finish with minor wear commensurate with age and use.

In the form of a castle with two elephant head handles, the lid flying a flag engraved "Biscuits".

The underside is punched with a pattern number but no makers mark.

Dating to c.1890, late Victorian era, it remains in good antique condition with a base diameter measuring 5 1/2" and standing 8 1/2" tall to top of flag.
