Hudson Vase

Roses

We offer a 1920s era Weller Hudson vase decorated with two bouquets of roses joined by a briar wood fence.

The vase is very tactile and a pleasure to hold. The body was pressed in a two part mold and the floral decoration is thickly applied slip both of which can be felt.

The body of the vase is glazed in a low matte finish with an ombré coloration of green at the top fading into a soft yellow at the base. The roses are hand painted in muted tones of mauve and rust with greened blue leaves.

The base is glazed and partially impressed with “WELLER” in block letters. The two center letters, “LL”, are not as well impressed as are the other letters.

There are no observable artist initials or marks.

The floral vase measures 7” in height and 4 1/4” in width with a top diameter of 2 1/8” and a base diameter of 2 7/8”.

As seen in the photographs, the vase has very fine age appropriate crazing. The Weller rose vase from the Hudson line is presented in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.
