DESCRIPTION:
This is a beautiful antique porcelain cup and saucer (SET C). I can read the mark of Carlsbad on the saucer (see photos). I believe that it was made by Fishern (near Carlsbad) around 1850. In 1842 Carl Knoll started a factory here that around 1850 became a porcelain maker. It was in the Bohemia region and is now in Rybare. This cup and saucer looks to be from their best and earliest period (see photos and research marks for maker and dates of manufacture). It is in the shape of a pink rose with the saucer forming the leaves. The design was copied from an earlier Meissen version. The piece is really of very good quality. The cup measures about 1.75 inches tall and the saucer is about 4.6 inches wide. The cup is marked with painter's marks (see photos). The saucer is marked underneath with their impressed CARLSBAD mark as well as other illegible marks (likely Carl Knoll mark and impressed numbers - see photos). The items have some painters marks as well. The item is from an estate liquidation. This is a beautiful cup and saucer set (see photos). The item is sold in as found as is estate condition. The cup has a hairline crack and wear to the gold gilt interior and the saucer has some minor leaf tip chips and both items have some wear to the painted finish (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item). This is a nice Westminster antique pink rose flower cup and saucer set to add to your collection.
