The obverse represents the portrait of Marie Curie surrounded by her double surname and dates of birth and passing away.

The reverse represents in the center, the couple formed by Marie Curie and her husband Pierre.

The background is made up of a representation of the molecular structure of polonium, a discovery that won him his Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911.

About
An exceptional scientist, she is the first woman to have received the Nobel Prize, and to date the only woman to have received two. She remains to this day the only person to have been awarded in two distinct scientific fields: physics and chemistry .
Marie Curie and Pierre Curie - her husband - received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903 for their research on radiation. In 1911, she won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her work on polonium and radium.
