Description: This print originates from: 'Ancient and modern Malta: containing a description of the ports and cities of the islands of Malta and Goza...', by Louis de Boisgelin, published in London by G. & J. Robinson in 1804. The standard history of Malta up until that time. Scarse.

Artists and Engravers: Author Pierre Marie Louis de Boisgelin de Kerdu, knight of Malta. Alias Caillot-Duval, a French writer living from 1758-1816. He became a knight of Malta in 1782. Plate by unknown engraver.

Subject: Maltese ancient objects: 'Greek and Roman Medals - Greek Medals - Greek Altar - Diameter 10 inches 3 Lines Thickness 11 Lines - Roman Sepulchral Lamp.' Scarse.

Condition: Good. Age related toning and light staining. Library stamp at bottom middle, partially erased.
