We are pleased to offer for your consideration this Art Nouveau period sterling silver repousse hand mirror. The sterling mirror features lovely high relief repousse bearded irises in various states of bloom with foliage on the backside and both sides of the handle. The handle is marked ‘STERLING’ and it appears to be the only mark visible. The sterling repousse mirror has never been monogrammed. There are several dents or bumps around the perimeter of the sterling frame and one on an iris petal. There is an irregular shaped stain on the mirror itself and some very tiny scratches. The silver has not been polished for some time, though we have kept is stored in a flannel pouch during our ownership. It still shows well for its age and previous use.

Measurements: The hand mirror measures approximately 9.5” from the top of the mirror to the bottom of the handle. It measures approximately 5.5” from one side to the other side. The height of the highest repousse bearded iris measures approximately ½” when the mirror is sitting face down on the table. The handle measures approximately almost 1” thick at the bottom where the iris flower is back to back. The beveled mirror measures approximately 4.75” across in diameter. This hand mirror weighs approximately 11.2 ounces. All measurements are approximate, but close.
Condition: We carefully examined this item. As mentioned in the description, there are several bumps or dents noted on the sterling mirror. Two dents are located on the mirror side at the 1 and 2 o’clock position (see photograph). Four dents are noted on the repousse side of the mirror at the 9 and 3 o’clock position on the side and one is located on the iris petal on the right side (see photographs). There is an irregular shaped ‘stain’ on the mirror approximately at the center as well as several very small scratches. Overall, the mirror still shows well for its age.
