THE ALASKA RAILROAD. Part 1: Anchorage to Seward. Few rail journeys boast the rugged beauty and frontier spirit that the Alaska Railroad offers.The rails weave their way through Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, one of the most scenic and beautiful places on earth. Part 2: Anchorage to Fairbanks (55 minutes approx). This scenic rail journey takes you through Alaska's heartland to Denali National Park and onto Fairbanks, a 356 mile adventure to the edge of civilisation and through some of the most scenic wilderness landscapes in North America, including views of Mt. McKinley, the centrepiece of this trip.
