Hamer Auctions Denis Gifford Comic Collection Catalogue Part 1: Feb 2001, Beano

Comic artist, writer and historian Denis Gifford owned what was perhaps the largest collection of British comics in the world. He died in the year 2000. Over 15 sales/catalogues between 2001 and 2003 Hamer Auctions carried out the monumental task of sorting and selling this vast collection. This first catalogue features a foreword by Denis' friend Bob Monkhouse.

A4 size. In very good condition. Covers are a bit worn and grubby with some edge/spine wear in places. A couple of tiny creases throughout, but no tears. Tiny amount of rust on the staples in the centre pages. Bottom right corner of the catalogue is rippled (suspected water spill) throughout.

I have listed 14 out of the 15 catalogues, so please see my other listings if you're interested in any others.

Auction catalogues are collectable in their own right, and this would be a welcome addition to any collection. Please look at the pictures to get a better idea of the condition. Will be put in a comic bag and sent in a card backed envelope.
