This marvelous vintage 1960s tea caddy or serving spoon is created in gorgeous sterling silver in the Sunset pattern [in production until 1969], by the "Silversmith to the Stars, Allan Adler.  Mr. Adler began production in 1938 and had his shop on the Sunset Strip, in Los Angeles California.  He was known for crafting mini-Oscar figures as well as designed a coffee urn for the White House during John F. Kennedy's presidency.  This glorious spoon design is in the Modernist Art Movement style with a sleek, gently curved handle and a glossy finish.  Hallmarks are:  Allan Adler Sterling.  Measurements for this fabulous creation are:  Length from top to bottom=5 inches, Width of bowl at widest=1-3/4 inches, Depth of bowl=3/8 inch, Weight=33.6 grams or 1.08 Troy ounces.  This marvelous sterling silver tea caddy or serving spoon has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent vintage condition, free from damage or repairs.  There is very light surface scratching on the back side of the bowl, commensurate with age and use, but they do not diminish the beauty of this fabulous spoon!  It is the perfect addition to your Allan Adler collection, particularly if you like the sleek, Mid Century Modern design!
