YUZU CITRUS

(Citrus junos)

A fully grafted plant. Grafted to a semi- dwarf rootstock. Max plant size 2 - 3m.

YUZU is a spectacular, medium sized, very attractive ornamental

fruit tree, commonly grown both as an ornamental tree and for its multi-purpose fruit.

(We also have grafted rare Japanese Sudachi citrus trees available). Perfect to have

 both trees in the garden.

Fruit is very high in Vitamin C, yellow in colour and about the size of a mandarin.

Easy to grow, like any citrus and is both cold and frost hardy.

Perfect for use as a garden fruit tree shrub and a valuable food plant in your

 garden.

FOOD USES

Very popular in Japan, Korea and China, where it's juice, similar in taste to a mix of

lemon and mandarin. Both juice and peel are all highly prized.

Yuzu lime leaves are commonly used as a flavouring and are steeped in boiling water

to make teas in Japan and Korea. They are also used to add flavour in curries, stir-

fries, stews, and soups.

Juice is added to drinks and the peel is used as a condiment mixed with salt

and chilli or sometimes soy sauce, commonly added to miso soup and used to make

Yuzu vinegar, wine, liquor, herbal teas and marmalades.

What will I receive?

You will receive a strong and beautiful GRAFTED plant in a small forestry grow tube.

Forestry tubes are 50mm x 50mm x 120mm. Plant size around 15cm tall. Perfect for reducing postage cost and ideal for re-potting on the receiver's end.

Grafted trees are fully capable of fruiting immediately but need to grow to a size where they have developed branches to hold fruit.

This typically happens 1 - 2 years of full growth in the garden. Patience is the gardener's main asset.
