18th Century Naples, Italy nativity figure
An exceptional example of a late 18th Century
Italian nativity figure. Hand carved articulated pine joint limbs, covered in
hessian filled period clothing. Amazing carved humanistic features and inserted
glass eyes.

This item is over 100 years old and shows loss in
detail through wear and tear. The item is worn and faded in areas with a
naturally aged patination. The cloths are faded and worn in sections, the
painted wooden surface shows scuff and loss with a few fingers also on the left
hand. The left eye has lost its glass eye and has had some restoration
including the tip of the nose. This item does not stand alone as shown in the
photos provided. In overall all good condition considering its age.
