Antique original 19thc brass gimbal ships lantern
1. came out a barn attic here in Portsmouth NH
2. original not reproduction
3. very heavy weighs just under 4 pounds before packing
4. magnet sticks to bottom but not to the font or the back bracket
5. no wick, no chimney
6. wick turner turns
7. wick holder will not unscrew, probably needs a little oil to get it loose
8. sways front to back and side to side
9. very tarnished, should clean up nicely
10. I have not cleaned this, just as I found it
measurements
1. bracket 2.75 across the round back to front 6 in. x 4.75 across the yoke
2. lamp 8 in. to top of wick holder, 4 in. across the front,
3. wick holder about 1/5 in. tall
4. across the wick holder 2.25 in. to hold the chimney
