Heritage Scrapbook

of Northwest Louisiana

by Goodloe Stuck. First edition, inscribed and signed by the author.  Privately published from articles printed in The Times of Shreveport, LA.  1986.

A member of a pioneer family himself, Mr. Stuck was a renowned local historian, who wrote a weekly newspaper column for years.  This book is a compilation of some of these columns.  The main sections of the book are: pioneer living; antebellum times; gingerbread age; twentieth century; doing business; keeping the faith; having a good time; celebrating Christmas; and resting in peace.  He has selected aspects of cultural history that are not likely to be found in other books.

Hardback book in Very Good condition in Good dustjacket.  Book is bright, clean, tightly bound, and the pages are fresh and unmarked except for the author’s inscription. Dustjacket has wear at edges and closed tears neatly taped inside. Fore-edge and folds of dustjacket marred by mis-positioned owner’s stamp. Gilt spine lettering gleams and the cover shows no wear. Dustjacket is glossy but has wear at top edge, including closed tear on back, neatly taped inside.  9 x 11 inches, 80 pages.  [22681-2312]
