I have an excellent 1992 Battersby Of London fedora in sable, size 7 or 57.
The hat is 100% fur felt, and is in good used condition with some signs of wear. There are two darker indentations on the felt both by the pinch and on top of the crown. They seems to be more of a scratch in the felt. These could likely be pounced out.
Tag indicates hat was made either in 1992.
These hats were manufactured in London in the same factories that Herbert Johnson hats were made. There are many Indiana Jones aficionados that agree that Christys' and Herbert Johnson used the same felt in their fedoras through the 70's and 80's.
The previous master hatter at Herbert Johnson has also stated that Batterbsy hats were also manufactured in the same factories that Herbert Johnson hats were made.
