RED BILLY BUTTONS

 (Gomphrena haageana)

Commonly known as 'Red Billy Buttons' or Strawberry Fields, it is a beautiful 

 plant, generally growing to a maximum of 20- 70cm. 

Very unusual flowerheads resembling a red strawberry ball. Loves the heat and

 humidity.

 Excellent cut flower and can be dried to use in dry flower arrangements.

Popular, this old-fashioned must-grow has colourful blooms that

 are wonderful additions to fresh and dried bouquets. 

 To use as a dried flower, cut the plant at the base or snip individual stems when the

 flowers are about an inch in size. Bundle and hang upside down out of direct sunlight

 until dry.

Hardy and easy to grow. Looks great in rockeries, border plantings, pots tubs.
