BIPLANE

Richard Bach's first published book, a "moving true narrative across time and space", his experiences flying a 1929 biplane. The book was first published in 1966; after the enormous success of Jonathan Livingston Seagull a few years later this book was reprinted in the exact same format, only with mention of JLS on the jacket. This copy is from that later printing.

The book is fantastically signed and inscribed by Bach across the second and third pages, with a doodle of a sunny sky featuring, naturally, seagulls. Very rare thus.

The book is in excellent shape, showing only very minor signs of age or use. The front jacket flap is price-clipped, otherwise there is really no flaw to mention. The jacket is protected in mylar.

A fine collector's copy of a rarely-signed volume.

Hardcover, 5.75" X 8.25", 163 pages, illustrated with photos by the author and Paul E. Hansen. Introduction by Bach's friend Ray Bradbury.
