I recently purchased a large collection of late 1700's and early 1800's porcelain from a prolific, affluent serious collector.  Most items have printed titles or mottos.  Everything is in outstanding condition and there are many rare and unusual pieces.  Please see my other others -- as always, combined purchased charged only actual shipping.

Antique mid-1800’s Staffordshire Transferware. Black transferware central motif surrounded by embossed alphabet rim. Impressed maker’s hallmarks for J. & G. Meakin. The transfer and embossing has been over-painted by hand ("clobbering").

Central motif shows three children with bows and arrows.  Printed title reads "ARCHERY". Castle in the background.  I believe this is from a product line displaying popular games.  I have 3 handled cups in this pattern also (see my other items)

Plates like this were made as gifts for good children and rewards of merit, used to aid in children's education and moral training, and to encourage their young imaginations.

Condition: Excellent giftable condition. This plate is in fabulous condition for its age.  Extremely almost imperceptible discoloration around edges on both top and bottom.  Light crazing. Transfer and over-painting intact without erosion or damage. No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Don't feel anything amiss when I run finger around edges. No evidence of prior repairs or restoration.

Dimensions: 5.5” diameter x 7/8” profile depth.

Unpacked weight 5.1 oz.

Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping. I only charge actual postage, and always use recycled packing materials.

Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles.  On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views.

I gladly accept returns, but please note I do not pay return postage unless there was a significant error in my description.  The item listed is being sold as is, as pictured and as described to the best of my knowledge. All dimensions and weights approximate. If you have a question or an assumption on an item prior to purchase, please ask. I much prefer to take the time on the front end to make sure you will be satisfied with your purchase.

Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
