Five lithographic prints after well known Suffolk ornithological artist and illustrator Noel Hubert Hopking (1882-1964). All original pages from a 1938 calendar.

As shown above the birds are a pair of Yellowhammers (December , a Thrush in song, (August), a pair of Chaffinchs (June), a Magpie (March) and a pair of Bullfinches (November).

Each is signed by the artist in the plate, either top right or top left. Also titled below with a description of the bird and it's habits and a calendar table below.

These are  'tipped in' prints, ie the pages were printed leaving a space for the picture to be added by hand separately.

Printed on thick wove paper, publisher unknown but there is an impressed mark at the top of each sheet depicting a castellated gateway.

All in excellent condition except for the Bullfinch which is lightly toned and has scattered foxing.

Each sheet measures 55 x 40cm, the images are 31 x 24cm.

Interestingly these prints come in the calendar's original cardboard envelope which has is addressed to a lady in East Chaldon near Dorchester and has two King George Vl stamps from the same period.

Note I have one other prints after Hopking from the same calendar depicting a Kingfisher but that has been trimmed and framed and presents beautifully- see my ebay shop.

Postage £5 to mainland UK.
