BLOWSIGHT have never cared about musical limits or genres. The Swedes have proved this already in 2007 on their first EP „I’ll Be Around“ by interpreting Britney Spears’ song „Toxic“ in their very own style of Punk, Pop and Metal. The clip got the band from Stockholm almost 500.000 views on YouTube. Also, on their tours with Danzig, Cinema Bizarre and Life Of Agony, BLOWSIGHT were gathering a worldwide community of fans. With their first full-length album „Destination Terrorville“ (2007) BLOWSIGHT showed impressively that the band wasn’t just a flash in the pan. The album got great reviews from all over the world and was even referred to as one of the most innovative and diversified albums of the year.

BLOWSIGHT are consequently sticking to their case, mixing different styles of music and creating their own, homogeneous musical concept that can’t be categorized. With that, the band wants to prove that heavy music can be catchy as well as to hit right between the eyes. This has worked out at best again for BLOWSIGHT on their second album „Dystopia Lane“. Even more concentrated, more catchy but also much harder the band was presenting their music – and again, the Sweden-boys have blurred the boundaries between Pop and Metal with their Metal-style version of Lady Gaga’s „Pokerface“. To support the release of the album, BLOWSIGHT went on a European tour with Sonic Syndicate, before the hard-working guys came up with their EP „Shed Evil“ in August 2011, right in time to take the audience of famous Wacken Open Air by storm.

Their current CD „Life & Death“ is BLOWSIGHT’s third full-length album and it can be described as the most mature output of the band up to date. In 13 songs the band is again mixing various genres of music to BLOWSIGHT’s unique style. The song „Hit On The Radio“ could be a such one, if there weren’t the heavy guitar riffs, same with „We All Fall Down“, which even features Electronic elements. „Dystopia II“ has become a downright opus with over 7 minutes playtime the structure of which reminds of „Bohemian Rhapsody“, while „This Pain“ makes clear that BLOWSIGHT know all about how to create heavy, modern Metal music, that sticks immediately to your ear. In the song „Through These Eyes“ BLOWSIGHT become very contemplative. Together with Swedish rapper Pato Pooh the band was recording this title in remembrance of the victims of the devastating assault on the Nowegian island Utoya where 69 innocent teenagers were shot to death by a lunatic. All proceeds of this song go to the victim relief foundation of this massacre.

As different as the songs on „Life & Death“ might be, the all have one thing in common: They have great hooklines that are catchy and moving. BLOWSIGHT show once again that good music needn’t to be categorized to function.

BLOWSIGHT haben sich noch nie um Genre-Grenzen geschert. Dies machten die Schweden bereits 2007 auf ihrer ersten EP „I’ll Be Around“ mehr als deutlich, indem sie Britney Spears’ „Toxic“ in ihrem eigenen Stil aus Punk, Pop und Metal interpretierten, was den Stockholmern fast eine halbe Million Views auf YouTube einbrachte. Touren mit Danzig, Cinema Bizarre und Life Of Agony bescherten BLOWSIGHT zudem eine weltweite Fangemeinde. Dass es sich bei BLOWSIGHT nicht um eine Eintagsfliege handelt, bewiesen die vier Stockholmer Musiker mit ihrem ersten Album „Destination Terrorville“ (2007), das nicht nur großartige Kritiken bekam, sondern sogar als eines der innovativsten und abwechslungsreichsten Alben des Jahres bezeichnet wurde.

BLOWSIGHT ziehen ihre Sache konsequent durch, verschiedene Musikstile zu mischen und aus dieser Mixtur einen eigenen, homogenen Stil zu kreieren, der in keine Schublade passt. Das Ziel der Band ist dabei, zu beweisen, dass auch harte Musik ohrwurmtauglich sein kann und trotzdem zwischen die Augen trifft, was BLOWSIGHT abermals auf ihrem Zweitling „Dystopia Lane“ bestens gelang. Noch konzentrierter, noch härter und noch eingängiger präsentierten die Schweden ihre Musik und – um wieder einmal die Grenzen zwischen Pop und Metal aufzuweichen – Lady Gagas Song „Poker Face“ in einer neuen, metal-lastigen Version. Zum Album-Release begaben sich BLOWSIGHT mit Sonic Syndicate auf Europatour, bevor die fleißigen Jungs im August 2011 mit der EP „Shed Evil“ um die Ecke kamen, mit der sie u.a. das Wacken Open Air im Sturm erobert haben.

Mit „Life & Death“ legen BLOWSIGHT nun ihren bereits dritten Longplayer vor, der als das bisher ausgereifteste Album des Vierers bezeichnet werden kann. 13 Songs lang vermischt die Band wieder einmal die verschiedensten Genres zu ihrem ureignen Stil. „Hit On The Radio“ könnte fast ein solcher sein, wären da nicht die beinharten Gitarrenriffs, genauso wie „We All Fall Down“, bei dem die Band zudem noch in den Elektro-Topf greift. „Dystopia II“ ist zu einem regelrechten Opus mit über 7 Minuten Spielzeit geworden, der an „Bohemian Rhapsody“ erinnert, während „This Pain“ deutlich macht, dass BLOWSIGHT sich durchaus auch auf heftigen, modernen Metal verstehen, der sich sofort in den Gehirnwindungen festbeißt. Nachdenklich werden BLOWSIGHT beim Song „Through These Eyes“. Zusammen mit dem schwedischen Rapper Pato Pooh nahm die Band diesen Song zum Gedenken an die Opfer des Anschlags auf der norwegischen Insel Utoya auf, bei dem 69 Jugendliche den Tod fanden. Sämtliche Erlöse des Titels gehen in die Stiftung für die Opferhilfe des Massakers.

So verschieden die Songs auf „Life & Death“ auch sein mögen, eines haben sie alle gemein; sie gehen ins Ohr und in die Beine und überzeugen durch Gänsehaut-Refrains. BLOWSIGHT zeigen abermals auf, dass gute Musik keine Kategorisierungen braucht, um zu funktionieren. Grenzen sind da, um gesprengt zu werden. BLOWSIGHT machen es vor.
