Following the EP „eiskalt“ from 2018 the !distain founding member and singer Alex Braun now presents his second solo EP. His mission to revive pearls of music history and give them a synthpop livery is continued on “chasing cars”. As a synthpop boy from the get-go and fan of cover versions Alex Braun has always regarded it as a matter close to his heart to reclaim these superb compositions.

Who does not remember e. g. “chasing cars” … this uber-anthem by Snow Patrol? Re-interpreted in a respectful way with the almost exclusive use of synthesizers the song will surely find new fans on other musical couches.

The time machine starts up again and we take a trip down memory lane with Kim Wilde’s “Cambodia” or “hello” by the Shakepears Sister. Add to this “Axel F.” by Harold Faltermeyer from the movie Beverly Hills Cop catapulted into the new millennium with dubstep elements and an aerial soprano.

Depeche Mode’s rarely covered “Somebody” gets more drive and as on the EP “eiskalt” there are surprises: “Karl der Käfer” (Karl the beetle) – goose bumps in a dance version. Who would have thought? “The song’s harmonies are simply fantastic. A fact, I think, that was not sufficiently appreciated in the past,” says Alex Braun with a grin! As a bonus track the EP features a harder remix version by Elektrostaub of “Pinocchio”.

“chasing cars” is an absolute must for kids of the 80s, synthpop fans or simply connoisseurs of pop song classics with a new look!

Nach "eiskalt" aus dem Jahr 2018 legt !distain-Gründungsmitglied und -Sänger Alex Braun nun seine zweite Solo EP nach. Seine Mission, Perlen der Musikgeschichte im Synthpop-Gewand neu zu beleben, wird auf „chasing cars“ konsequent weitergeführt. Als Synthpopboy der ersten Stunde und Fan von Coverversionen ist es für Alex Braun immer noch eine Herzensangelegenheit, diese großartigen Kompositionen wieder ins Bewusstsein zu holen.

Wer erinnert sich z. B nicht an "chasing cars" ... diese Über-Hymne von Snow Patrol? Respektvoll, aber vor allem fast nur mit Synthesizern neu interpretiert, findet der Song nun sicher auch Fans in anderen musikalischen Lagern.
Und schon springt die Zeitmaschine wieder an und wir schwelgen mit Kim Wilds "Cambodia" oder "hello" von Shakespears Sister in Erinnerungen. Hier darf natürlich „Axel F.“ von Harold Faltermeyer aus dem Film Beverly Hills Cop nicht fehlen. Mit Dubstep-Elementen und ätherischem Sopran salonfähig in das neue Jahrtausend katapultiert.

Depeche Modes selten gecovertes "Somebody" bekommt etwas mehr Drive, und wie auch bei der "eiskalt" EP gibt es Überraschungen: "Karl der Käfer" von Gänsehaut in der Dance-Version. Wer hätte das gedacht? "Die Harmonien dieses Songs sind einfach großartig. Ich finde, das wurde bisher nicht ausreichend gewürdigt", meint Alex Braun schmunzelnd! Als Bonus Track bietet die EP zudem noch "Pinocchio" in der härteren Remix-Version von Elektrostaub.

„chasing cars“ ist für Kinder der 80er, für Synthpop-Fans oder schlicht für Liebhaber von Popsong-Klassikern im neuen Gewand ein absolutes Muss!
