Jimmy Martin und Rick Springfield liefern in „Love Somebody“ die Neuauflage eines grandiosen Tophits, der bereits in den 80er Jahren weltweit die Charts stürmte und an dem auch 2006 mit Sicherheit keiner vorbeikommen wird!


Für seine neue Single „Love Somebody“ ist dem Luxemburger Erfolgsproduzenten und Musiker Jimmy Martin ein ganz besonderer Coup gelungen: Er hat Superstar Rick Springfield, von dem das Original des Songs stammt, als Mitstreiter gewonnen. Der beliebte Schauspieler und Sänger aus Australien mit Wohnsitz in Los Angeles erklärte sich sofort zur Mitarbeit bereit, als Jimmy Martin seine Coverversion von „Love Somebody“ beim Meister vorlegte, eigentlich nur, um die Genehmigung für den Release zu bekommen. „Wir waren sofort auf einer Wellenlänge“ sagt Jimmy, der „Love Somebody“ als einen seiner ultimativen Lieblingssongs angibt und schon länger mit dem Gedanken gespielt hatte, den Titel aufzunehmen. Dass Jimmy Martin es dadurch geschafft hat, den scheuen Superstar Rick Springfield, der schon seit vielen Jahren in Deutschland keine CD mehr veröffentlicht hat, aus der Reserve und wieder auf den deutschen Markt zu locken, ist das wunderbare Ergebnis einer so spontanen wie guten Zusammenarbeit zweier fantastischer Musiker, die auch in Zeiten von Crossover und Casting Acts immer noch an die Magie handgemachter Rockmusik glauben. Und viele Fans in der ganzen Welt geben ihnen Recht.

With his new single well known singer and producer Jimmy Martin from Luxemburg has made himself a dream come true. He recorded a new version of one of his all time favourite hits: Rick Springfield’s No. 1 Hit “Love Somebody”. During the recording session he sent a demo version of the track to Rick’s man-agement to check if they like it.

The whole production team was completely excited when only short time later Rick Springfield called and told Jimmy that he really liked his new version and offered to play some additional guitar tracks – and even supply some vocals!

Jimmy’s songwriting and producing skills have been much publicised and talked about over the past years, as he has produced, together with Clif Magness, Tommy Remm and Valicon, the English Popstars – The Rivals winner Jamie Shaw, whose album “Different”, containing the homonymous hit single, was released in 2006.

But one can’t keep a dedicated musician like Jimmy Martin behind a recording desk in a studio for long. And therefore the hard working cosmopolitan is back on stage and behind the microphone with his brand new single “Love Somebody” (feat. Rick Springfield) and his upcoming album “So Many Things to Say” and proves once again that he’s a convincing artist, in the studio as well as playing live.
