Antique 19th Century Chinese Bencharong Benjarong Bowl Made for the Kingdom of Siam Market

We are pleased to offer for your consideration this rare 19th century antique Bencharong bowl made in China for the Kingdom of Siam market. This Bencharong bowl features steeply rounded sides rising from a short ring foot to a slightly flared rim. The outside decorated with eight alternating figures of Norasinghs and Thepanom angels amidst foliage scrolls reserved on a black ground. The interior is green glazed with a center medallion, the rim with floral bands. The bowl's outer rim is mounted with copper metal around its slightly flared rim. This bowl is in very good antique condition. A tight 3.5 cm hairline extends from the rim. It is noticeable primarily from the interior, and masked by the enamel decorations on the outside. This bowl was acquired in 1976 during a trip to Bangkok from an antique shop called Monogram.
