Photograph Notes: The vivid greenery bordering the Union Canal towpath is Few-flowered Leek, a very invasive species which was first recorded in West Lothian in 1866. It is just coming into flower, along with Lesser Celandine and Coltsfoot, after a very cold March. A few leisure craft have started plying the canal since Easter and here 'Willow' is heading east towards Edinburgh after passing under Priestinch Bridge at Winchburgh.
