Photograph Notes: Wind Low is a small tumulus in a field near Hayward Farm. It was excavated in 1846 by the industrious Thomas Bateman, and the remains of three adults and two infants were found in the burial cist, along with a number of calcified bones, animal remains, some flints and parts of a bracelet and a necklace. The base stone of an unrelated medieval cross now sits on top of the small barrow.
