Appleseed's started in 1946 as a small store in Beverly, MA, carrying classic clothing and gifts for women, men and children. The legendary New England-born pioneer Johnny Appleseed was the inspiration for their name. Johnny Appleseed’s diligence and can-do spirit yielded vast orchards, and reflected the ideals of personal service, integrity and honest work. Over the years Appleseed's branched out from the single store and black-and-white catalog to focus on classic American clothing for women of all sizes and body types. Each item is measured and these measurements are included. In clothing, sizes can vary by brand and style. The "tagged" size is not always the same as the "measured" size.
