Maria Farrer lives in the Somerset countryside with her husband and Chiecco the dog. Before this she lived on a small farm in New Zealand with a flock of sheep, a herd of cows, two badly-behaved pigs, and a budgie that sat on her head while she wrote. Maria trained as a speech therapist and teacher and worked in hospitals and schools.
