Trompe l’oeil painting of arched cabinet shelves on arched wood panel with an instant collection of antiques. Included in the painting are a antique tortoise shell box with the lid open in a glass cloche, a cinnabar perfume or smelling salts bottle in a glass cloche, a Victorian taxidermy canary in a glass cloche, and an antique jade Foo Dog vessel in a glass cloche. The idea behind this trompe L’oeil painting was to give the illusion of a shallow cabinet full of unusual items in an extraordinary collection gathered over generations, but with this painting there would be no dusting or insurance needed to have this “collection”!

The “glass” cloches are over painted with high gloss for the extra illusion of the items being under real glass. 24.5” x 14.5”
