Provenance: The National Encyclopaedia - Publisher William Mackenzie, 22 Paternoster Row, London; Howard St. Glasgow; and South Bridge, Edinburgh c1868. This series of Mackenzie's encyclopaedia was first published between c1868 to the 1880s and beyond. This print is from the rare, earlier first edition which was  published c1868.c.keenlyside.

It shows Bell's Reaping Machine; M'Cormick's American Reaping Machine; Hussey's American Reaping Machine; all being pulled by working horses guided by a reaper.


CONDITION/DIMENSIONS

From the date stated and not a later reproduction. It measures overall 240mm x 160 mm ( 9.25 x 6.25 " ) approx. There is an off centre as published fold. There is a some age yellowing; darkening at the edges. It has a blank reverse. This item will be shipped in a board backed envelope.

Our use of the term " original print" is a pictorial image made in a manner which allows it to be multiplied, and originating from the date stated; this includes examples of various methods of printmaking including steel, copper and wood engravings, etchings, woodcuts, lithographs etc. Many prints/maps would have been originally bound in a book at some time as was this one.
