This mask comes from the estate of a Teacher who traveled the world collecting exotic and unique artifacts from the many distant and mystic locales. This mask was purchased on one of many trips she made to Mexico in her home on wheels.
Brightly painted and embellished, this handmade copper mask comes from Mexico featuring a beautiful cat design, making it a unique addition to any collection. Through research, I have found that this museum quality piece was made from copper plumbing floats (flotadones del care). Cut in half, then head, ears attached as well as a hand made chain for wall mounting. Additionally, embellished with wire curlies on cheeks (whiskers), ears, nostrils, mouth as well as around the eyes. She is missing one earring unless she was intended to have only one.
It measures top of ears to chin just under 6.5" and is Just under 6" wide.
