Butvar B - 76  100 Grams. Coarse powder dissolvable in solvent such as acetone or isopropyl alcohol

Good for label adhesive and fossil preparation.

It will take approximately 7 days or so for the butvar to dissolve in the solvent, and you may still need to stir it after that :) Shaking it for a minute each day will hasten dissolving. A glass canning jar can be used as a container.

For a fossil preparation consolidant, approximately 2 ounces of butvar can be dissolved in 32oz of solvent. You may need to test the batch and add either butvar or or solvent for the appropriate mixture.  The mixture can be applied with a brush, or the fossil being preserved can be soaked in the butvar solution. If working with c4umbling bone, it is recommended to apply the solution using a dropper in a higher ratio.

Wear gloves while handling in a well ventilated area. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
