Here is a vintage oval serving platter crafted by the Edwin Knowles pottery company in West Virginia during the 1950s. The pretty oval platter is 11 inches in length and 8.25 inches in width with 3/4" tall sides.

The platter has the cheerful Carlton pattern of pink, blue, and brown fanciful flowers that ring the wide rim on a glossy off-white background.

The ceramic serving piece weighs 1 lb 2 oz.  It was crafted in the US sometime before the pottery factory closed in 1962.

Condition is very good with no chips, cracks or crazing.  Surprising for its age, the utensil marks are few.  The silver edge trim is not worn but has intermittent staking scuffs, see last photo.
