This is a lovely old piece of Chinese silk and embroidery which I think dates to the 19th century.  A central panel of a Chinese man surrounded by bamboo and flowers and what look like sail boats with other panels of bamboo and willow trees and a bridge and pagoda.  And around these areas is the most beautiful gold thread - I think this is twisted onto cord.  Around this central panel are motifs (scrolls, daggers, bats and other items Im not sure about.  It's framed and on the back has a stamp that relates to Bayonne in France.
