c1940 SPLIT CANE 15ft SALMON ROD FISHING FLY ROD quality like B James R walker
In very good condition. A lovely rod beautifully made but with no makers name or numbers on it anywhere, no clues as to who made it. But made to the quality of B James, R Walker rods , with very close windings/tyings to the rod shafts, with an agate initial line eye ring and lockfast joints all firm, the rod straight, a really nice rod. It has a nice quality fitting reel grip to the cork handle, and as are all the metal fittings, they are nickle and were once silver plated but that has warn off with the passage of time. A three piece rod with two tips, PLEASE NOTE that for one tip the bindings are warn and a little tatty, the other one is very good. It comes with the rod bag it was found in, but I will say the stock end of the rod is a tight fit. A long rod at 15 feet and overall strong, straight, with all joints tight and firm. It has quite a nice overall whip to it when thrashed around, it must be a fly rod.
This is one of three nice quality vintage split cane fishing rods, that I have put on Ebay this weekend, all from the same private clearance.
