Up for auction is a great find

A Wood Box

We do not know the age or history, just that this was from an estate and they said they got it from an antique auction in the 70’s.

The wooden box itself measures about

16”x9”x5-3/4”

The photo shows the detail of the carving

And the photo on the back is what may show the providence of this piece, we could not tell what some of the words are, but hoping you the collectors may know.

The words we found on the tag from this piece are; Kuba Congo Zaire

This is old and very nice

The wood is a hard wood, we do not know what kind of tree it was from.

The photos show in detail what you are getting, there is one area that appears when the piece was made a nail did not go in straight so cracked part of the inside of the wood. This does not weaken the piece at all, the whole thing is very tight and sound.

The screws in the hinges show the old school slotted heads.

The carving craftsmanship is brilliant.
