We offer 235 Kodak Red Border color stereo transparencies and included is a manual 3D viewer. With slides slipped into the viewer when held up to the light one can see the very interesting 3D effect of the slides. These photographic transparencies were taken with a special two lens 3D camera that was made by Kodak photography company. It was a popular fad of the times. My friend, Arthur Knebel, passed and left me these images made and taken by his photographer mother, Margie Shafer Knebel. I purchased a 3D viewer and enjoyed seeing these many slides. Margie had a eye for subject matter that was very intriguing in a 3D format. Margie was a member of the 1940's Delphian Society which was an organization dedicated to the education of women. Margie would give lectures about the arts and became a cultural leader in Cincinnati Ohio society. The Delphians were first organized in Chicago in 1910 and grew with chapters throughout the United States. They were part of the National cultural movements that led to today's Arts Councils and community arts organizations. Not surprisingly, my friend Arthur, became a fine painter after a full career as a symphony Violist playing professionally with orchestras across the USA.

The 235 slides are divided into 123 Floral images, 60 of Landscapes, 28 of Rivers and Lakes, 7 of the Cincinnati Botanical Gardens, and 17 of Family images. There are many slide images in partial cut slides not included in the total but none-the-less part of the deal.

The viewer is an inexpensive hand held viewer. There are a variety of viewer types and models available on Ebay.
A vintage steel box compartmented side-opening container is included in the deal.

The Kodak Stereo Camera was a 35mm film stereo camera produced between 1954 and 1959. The camera employed two lenses to take twin shots of scenes, which could then be viewed in dedicated image 3D viewers.

The famous red border cardboard frames signified very high quality Kodak processing which was discontinued in 1957 and maintained the color quality to perfection as the day the image was taken.

This collection of Kodachrome Red Border stereo transparencies captures a variety of beautiful and fascinating scenes from 1955.
