Fantastic old pair of Kathodian Bronze Works (KBW) bookends depicting a naked strongman - Hercules? Sandow? - pushing his muscular body against a rock.

Each bookend is identical, made of bronze clad metal (bronze cladding over a plaster interior), meticulously sculpted, and marked "© K.B.W." on the ends. These date from 1915-1918 (the years Kathodian Bronze Works was in business), and they're in great shape. There are a few small cracks on the bronze cladding near the inner thigh (barely visible), but no missing pieces or breaks.

Each bookend stands 7" tall by 6.5" wide by 4" deep, and each weighs 3.5 lbs. apiece. The bottoms are covered in brown felt.

Kathodian bookends are among the most highly collectible bookends because of their rarity and top quality sculpture. Make these yours.
