From note included with vase: "This brilliant blue glass lemonade glass with white and animal decoration of a young boy was made in the 1880s at the old Boston and sandwich glass company works at Sandwich on Cape Cod.

The charming hand painted enamel decoration was done by a Mary Gregory, a glass artist who specialized in painting children's designs on sunshine glass in the 1870s and 1880s. Her  designs were similar to the famous Kate Greenaway figure illustrations, which appeared in English children's books of that period. This children decorated glassware has now become so famous that it is called "Mary Gregory Glass."  It's sandwich original is seldom used in its name. But it should not be forgotten that the sandwich factory made the beautiful colored glass which she decorated!"

Some gold trim has rubbed off in one spot.  See photos for details and condition.
