This scarce antique volume is over 150 years old!
Originally published in 1873, this is the 2nd Edition. Ex-library.
In good condition overall! Original publisher cloth binding shows wear, including a library sticker pasted to the front board, a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes (specifically the headband which shows moderate wear), and some rubbing and soiling to the page edges. Binding is also slightly cocked. Otherwise this is an attractive antique volume! Gilt title lettering to the spine displays nicely from the shelf.
Internally, this volume is in good shape as well. Both boards and all page groupings remain attached to the binding, though there is significant cracking to the rear hinge. This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the title page and copyright page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.
The text block of this volume is clean throughout. There is typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as some light foxing and soiling scattered throughout, and some light creasing and edge wear in spots, but otherwise this volume is clean and perfectly readable throughout!
