Poinciana Tree

 

 (Delonix regia)   


Commonly known as the Ponciana Tree, Flame of the Forest is a species of plant in the family Fabaceae.

 It is spectacular tree, native to Madagascar. Grows to around 4 - 5 metres tall.

The nectar produced by the flowers attracts honey eaters and native bees.

A beautiful flowering ornamental and feature shade tree. Often seen planted next to Queenslander style homes alongside Jacaranda & Mango trees.

Flowers


Bright red flowers being seen from April to October, followed by large, bean shaped brown seed pods from December to March.

An excellent bird attracting, screening plant, with showy flowers. 


Whawilreceive?


You will receive five strong small young plants supplied in forestry tubes as tube-stock.

Forestry tubes are small pots 50mm x 50mm wide by 120mm deep.
