This type of switch was fitted to high end HiFi equipment dating back to the 1980's and was made by ALPS
This ROTARY operated "slide" switch has 4 positions and has 20 contacts in two rows of 10 contacts (see the photographs). This switch was used in Hitachi equipment and probably other makes as well.
