This is a handmade beautiful Orange pot from Whichford pottery, terracotta and frost proof.  The size is huge, it measures 72cms across and 55 cms high.

The pot title refers to the flowerpots first made in Renaissance Tuscany.  In the 1440's the architects of the time had the idea of putting citrus trees in very large pots all around the gardens.  The best artists of the day, including Lucca della Robbia, were employed to design these pots.

The Whichford design is closely allied to these originals.  Established in 1976, Whichford Pottery produces entirely handmade terracotta flowerpots  which are beautiful, desirable and full of character.  If you watch Gardeners World you would have seen these pots in Monty Don's garden at Longmeadow.

This pot has roses in it at the moment, but looks spectacular with a tree in, such as something flowering like a cherry or lilac or even an apple tree.

They sell for £595 plus £29.50 for delivery.  I'm asking far below that figure, so if you've always desired a beautiful handmade large terracotta pot by the most revered pot company in Britain, now is your chance!
