Originally created as a small, lightweight air combat fighter, the USAF F-16 has evolved into a powerful multi-purpose fighter through superior basic design and step-by-step improvements.
The F-16C, a developmental version, had an improved radar and cockpit, and in addition to the P&W F100, it could now be powered by the high-power GE F110 engine.
The Block 50, which appeared in 1991, was equipped with the F110-GE-129 engine, which had a further increase in thrust.
The F-16CJ was also equipped with AGM-88 high-speed anti-radar missiles and was named the F-16CJ, enabling it to carry out 'wild weasel' missions to suppress enemy air defence radar.
