What is simple track?
Simple track was operated by various municipalities to transport people, crops and milk in the days when road conditions in Hokkaido were poor.
At first glance, they look like railways, but legally they are not railways or tracks, but transport for land improvement.
All of the simple tracks in various parts of Hokkaido disappeared when the Hamanaka town track was closed down in 1972, but the Tomibetsu simple track is the second of its kind, with diesel locomotives, traction coaches and milk gondola cars joining the fleet.
The Tomibetsu track is a 1/80th scale, 9mm gauge model based on the assumption that the actual track is a 762mm gauge, non-electrified narrow gauge track.
The power unit TM-TR02 (B for 2-axle electric cars) for the Railway Collection N gauge fits only diesel locomotives, and the TT-03R for trailer conversion parts fits only passenger cars and freight cars.
Two dummy couplers will be included in each set to replace the coupling surfaces.
Trailering of diesel locomotives and power conversion of passenger and freight cars is not possible.
For rails, use TOMIX FineTrack N gauge 9mm rails.
Two narrow gauge-style (9mm) exhibition rails included.
