Marty was launched in 1960 and was billed as the first ever photo romance weekly. It was named after Marty Wilde, who was one of the most famous British pop stars of the day.

The magazine was part of a wave of similar titles such as Valentine, Marilyn, Mirabelle, Roxy, Romeo and Serenade : all were trying to ride the wave of the booming interest in pop music and the increasing affluence of teenagers. The magazines featured a unique combination of romance, photo strip or comic strip stories and pop music.

This magazine is complete and in very good vintage condition.

Page edges lightly tanned with age.
